American Institute for Conservation (AIC)
The American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (AIC) is the national membership organization of conservation professionals. Its members include conservators, educators, scientists, students, archivists, art historians, and other conservation enthusiasts in over twenty countries around the world.


AMIEN (Art Materials Information and Education Network)
Provides, without regard to aesthetics, comprehensive, up-to-date, accurate, and unbiased factual information about artists' materials. The information is based on the most current scientific knowledge from peer-reviewed sources regarding quality, durability, and health hazards, and on original research conducted at AMIEN.

Art-Care
Art-Care is a unique, free, on-line resource providing a comprehensive array of service providers: conservators-restorers, appraisers, insurance companies, art shippers, specialized attorneys, archival framers, gilders, conservation supplies, art stores and others who serve private individuals and public institutions.

CAMEO: Conservation and Art Material Encyclopedia Online
A searchable information center developed by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
The Materials database contains chemical, physical, visual, and analytical information on over 10,000 historic and contemporary materials used in the production and conservation of artistic, architectural, archaeological, and anthropological materials.

Canadian Conservation Institute
Through conservation science, treatment, and preventive conservation, the Canadian Conservation Institute supports the heritage community in preserving Canada's heritage collections so they can be accessed by current and future generations. This mission is accomplished through conservation research and development, expert services, and knowledge dissemination.

The Collections Care and Conservation Alliance
The Collections Care Alliance was founded by a group of conservators in Vermont and Upstate New York on the belief that those who care for the region's cultural collections should unite to strengthen the ability of its members to protect and increase accessibility to the region's cultural resources through education, collaboration, and advocacy.

Conservation OnLine
CoOL, an online resource operated by the Foundation of the American Institute for Conservationis a full text library of conservation information, covering a wide spectrum of topics of interest to those involved with the conservation of library, archives and museum materials. It is a growing online resource for conservators, collection care specialists, and other conservation professionals.

The Getty Conservation Institute
The Getty Conservation Institute works internationally to advance conservation practice in the visual arts—broadly interpreted to include objects, collections, architecture, and sites. The Institute serves the conservation community through scientific research, education and training, model field projects, and the dissemination of the results of both its own work and the work of others in the field

Heritage Preservation – The National Institute for Conservation
Heritage Preservation is a national non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of the United States. By identifying risks, developing innovative programs, and providing broad public access to expert advice, Heritage Preservation assists museums, libraries, archives, historic preservation and other organizations, as well as individuals, in caring for our endangered heritage.

International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (IIC)
The International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works has been promoting the knowledge, methods and working standards needed to protect and preserve historic and artistic works throughout the world for more than fifty years.

Institute of Conservation (Icon)

Institute of Museum and Library Services (ILMS)

New England Conservation Association
The New England Conservation Association is a collegial group of individuals from the New England region who are interested in all aspects of art conservation. NECA hosts an annual series of interesting and topical meetings where members can keep up-to-date on the latest developments in conservation, enjoy refreshments with friends and colleagues, and see behind the scenes in area labs and studios. Annual workshops are organized to provide hands-on opportunities for specialized interests with a rotating subject matter.

Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC) – Preservation Leaflets
NEDCC is a leader in providing preservation information to museums, libraries, archives, historical organizations, and other cultural institutions, as well as to private individuals. NEDCC's Preservation Leaflets (formerly called Technical Leaflets) cover a range of topics from the storage environment to care of photographs to planning and prioritizing for preservation. NEDCC's comprehensive suppliers list provides up-to-date contact information for providers of preservation services and supplies.
